Quick reference
2+2 long-wheelbase models use physically different trailing arms with distinct part numbers (55121-32Pxx series); verify donor car body style via VIN or door count before purchase
JDM market vehicles may have slightly different bushing compounds or zinc coating specifications
Early 1990 production may have transition parts; verify bushing sleeve diameter if mixing early/late production components
Context
The Nissan Z32 platform utilizes robust aluminum rear trailing arms (lower links) that rarely fail structurally but commonly suffer from worn bushings and ball joints. For the left side, source OEM 55121-30P00 or its latest supersession 55121-30P02. These interchange across all 1990–1996 USDM 300ZX 2-seater variants, including both VG30DE naturally aspirated and VG30DETT twin-turbo models. When junkyard hunting, verify the casting mark "30P0" on the arm body and confirm it came from a 2-seater coupe—2+2 models use longer arms that appear similar but will destroy alignment geometry. Inspect the rear bushing for dry rot and check the knuckle-side ball joint for vertical play; replacement bushings are available separately but pressing them requires a heavy-duty hydraulic press. During installation, torque the front subframe bolt to 85–95 ft-lbs and the rear knuckle bolt to 65–75 ft-lbs with the suspension at ride height to prevent bushing preload. If the arm is bent from curb strikes, alignment will be impossible—always check for cracks near the bushing housing before bolting in.
