For 1990-1996 models, the left side Turbo knuckle carries OEM reference 40015-40P00, while NA applications use 40015-30P00—these are not interchangeable due to different brake caliper mounting bosses designed for the larger TT aluminum calipers. When pulling from junkyards, inspect the ball joint towers for stress cracks, particularly around the lower ball joint socket where aluminum fatigue is common after 30+ years. The 1989-1996 production run maintained consistent geometry, though early 1990 casting marks may differ slightly from 1994+ revisions. Installation requires a 32mm axle nut socket and proper torque sequence to avoid hub bearing preload issues. Check the ABS sensor mounting boss integrity if equipped, as these ears snap easily during ham-fisted removal.
