3L V6 Twin Turbo VG30DETT (300hp).
Quick reference
Verify whether 'Suspension Assembly' refers to lower control arm (54501-), steering knuckle (40015-), or strut (E6110-); these have different interchange rules and TT/NA splits.
JDM 1989 early arms may lack the later gusseting at the tension rod mount—compare casting ribs before install.
Supersession chain: 40P00 → 40P01 confirmed, but regional variants (Europe/Australia) may use different bushing compounds.
Context
When hunting Z32 300ZX parts, the front lower control arm assembly (Nissan 54501-40P01, superseding 54501-40P00) is a high-value junkyard score for 1991 VG30DETT builds. This aluminum wishbone fits all 1990-1996 USDM Z32 models regardless of twin-turbo or naturally aspirated configuration, though you must verify you're grabbing the left-hand assembly (casting mark '40P00' faces outward). Inspect critical failure points: cracks radiating from the pressed-in ball joint pocket (common on tracked cars), elongated rear bushing sleeves, and corrosion around the tension rod mount. If the ball boot is torn but the arm is OEM, grab it—aftermarket ball joints (Nissan 40160-40P01) can be pressed in by a machine shop. Installation requires an alignment immediately after; the eccentric bolts at the frame mount set caster. Torque the 17mm tension rod nut to spec with the suspension at ride height to prevent bushing preload.
