These modules are specific to Z32 chassis with factory HIDs; halogen-equipped base models lack the mounting brackets and wiring harnesses entirely. Always verify the connector integrity—corrosion at the igniter plug is the primary failure mode causing intermittent operation. Test by checking for the distinctive blue-white arc during ignition; slow starting or pink coloration indicates internal capacitor degradation. When installing, ensure the aluminum heat sink faces downward to prevent thermal damage, and never operate the ballast without the bulb connected as this causes immediate voltage spike damage.
