When sourcing Nissan 300ZX corner lights at the junkyard, distinguish between the angular 1990-1995 Zenki design (OEM 26120-30P25) and the rounded 1995-1996 Kouki style (26120-40P00 series), as these are not interchangeable despite shared VG30DETT/VG30DE fitment. Both NA and twin-turbo models use identical assemblies. Inspect for stress cracks in the polycarbonate lens—common from 30+ years of UV exposure—and verify the bulb socket hasn't melted from high-wattage bulbs. Installation requires removing the fender liner fasteners for access; the assembly clips into the fender with one hidden screw accessible from the wheel well. Check the rubber grommet where the wiring passes through the fender—this is the primary entry point for moisture that corrodes the ground connection.
