The 1991 Nissan 300ZX (Z32) front right headrest (OEM 87620-30P01 for cloth, 87620-30P04 for leather) mounts via two 14mm diameter posts with indexed notches. All 1989-1996 Z32 models share this mounting specification, making junkyard interchange straightforward across turbo VG30DETT and naturally aspirated VG30DE variants. When inspecting used units, squeeze-test the foam for degradation—collapsed internal padding is common on 30+ year old examples. Check that the plastic height-adjustment notches aren't stripped and the metal frame hasn't separated from the foam core. Installation requires depressing the seat-back release button while inserting the posts; the notched side must face outward toward the door. Leather-trimmed Turbo models often suffer from cracked upholstery before frame failure, while cloth units fray at the mounting base.
