The Nissan 300ZX Z32 headliner assembly (Nissan p/n 73910-40P01 for gray or 73910-40P02 for charcoal) spans 1990-1996 model years across both VG30DETT twin-turbo and naturally aspirated variants. When junkyard hunting, prioritize 2-seater coupes— the 2+2 models use a longer board that won't fit the shorter roofline. Inspect the fiberboard backing for cracks near the sunroof cutout (if equipped) and check that the foam substrate hasn't separated from the fabric; sagging indicates hydrolyzed foam that requires full recovering. During extraction, remove the A-pillar, B-pillar, and rear quarter trim first— the headliner slides out through the hatch, not the doors. Never fold or bend the board; it will crease permanently. If the original is salvageable but sagging, 3M Super 77 adhesive can reattach fabric, but replacement boards from 1990-1996 donors bolt directly in using the original spring-clip retainers.
