Rear Glass/Backlite - 2011 528i

The BMW F10 platform (2010-2016) rear glass interchange spans all sedan variants from the N52-powered 528i to the V8 550i. The green-tinted heated unit carries OEM reference 51 32 7 252 433, while clear glass corresponds to 51 32 7 252 434; both fit interchangeably regardless of engine code. When harvesting from salvage, inspect the ceramic frit border for delamination—a common failure where the black masking separates from the glass, allowing water intrusion into the antenna amplifier mounted at the base. Test defroster grid continuity across the spade terminals (expect 0.5-1.2 ohms); grid breaks often occur at the highest stress points near the third brake light. During installation, replace the brake light gasket (51 71 7 158 375) to prevent amplifier damage, and use OEM-specified urethane adhesive with proper primers. The diversity antenna system requires ISTA calibration after glass replacement to restore FM reception quality. Note that Touring (F11) and Gran Turismo (F07) models utilize completely different rear glass dimensions and cannot be interchanged with sedan components.
