Context
For the Z32 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo, the front oxygen sensors—Nissan 22690-40P00 (driver side) and 22690-40P01 (passenger side)—manage A/F ratios for the VG30DETT's sequential turbo system. These 4-wire heated units thread into exhaust manifolds upstream of the turbos. When junkyard hunting, interchange spans 1990-1996 TT models exclusively; non-turbo VG30DE engines use incompatible 1-wire sensors (22690-21P00 series). Inspect for oil fouling (common on worn DETTs), heater circuit faults (P0135/P0155 codes), or cracked ceramics. Installation demands a 22mm crowfoot wrench due to tight manifold clearance; apply anti-seize to the M18x1.5 threads. The DENSO 234-4209 and 234-4210 castings offer reliable alternatives. Verify connector colors—white versus black—since left and right harnesses differ in length and routing, and 1996 OBD-II examples may have unique pin configurations.
