Context
For the 2011 BMW F10 528i, the yaw rate sensor (BMW part 34526793106 or Bosch 0 265 005 649) serves as the primary input for the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) module, detecting rotational acceleration around the vertical axis. Located beneath the driver's seat on LHD models (passenger side on RHD), this sensor interchanges across 2010-2016 F10/F11 5-Series and 2009-2017 F07 Gran Turismo models. When harvesting from junkyards, target 2010-2013 F10 528i/535i/550i or F12 6-Series donors. Critical inspection points: verify the arrow marking on the sensor housing points toward the front bumper, check the 2-pin connector for green corrosion from moisture intrusion, and confirm the mounting tab isn't cracked. Installation requires calibration via BMW ISTA/D or equivalent scan tool to clear DSC fault codes 5E20 or 5E24. Never install without confirming the rubber isolation dampers are intact, as vibration transmission causes signal drift.
