3L I6 Naturally Aspirated N52B30 (240hp).
Quick reference
2011 528i is unique in F10 chassis for using N52B30 (240hp); 2012+ 528i switched to N20 turbo, but ABS sensor remains identical
Verify connector housing color: early production (2010-2013) uses black connectors, while 2014+ Facelift (LCI) models may use gray housings with different pin plating
xDrive and RWD variants use the same sensor part number, but xDrive models have shorter harness routing—verify wire length when pulling from all-wheel-drive donors
Context
The 2011 BMW 528i (N52B30) uses Bosch-manufactured wheel speed sensors reading a magnetic encoder integrated into the front wheel bearing. When junkyard hunting, target 2010-2016 F10 5-Series sedans or 2009-2015 F01 7-Series; the 34-52-6-789-702 supersedes to 34-52-6-792-452 but both interchange directly. Inspect the sensor tip for scoring—contact with a damaged bearing encoder ring destroys the sensing element. Remove the 5mm Allen retaining bolt and twist the sensor body counter-clockwise while pulling; corrosion often seizes the plastic body in the knuckle bore. Check the wiring harness 6 inches back from the connector for green corrosion, a common failure point where water traps at the strut tower grommet. Clean the mounting bore with brake cleaner and apply dielectric grease to the O-ring before installing replacement units. Avoid hammering sensors out, as the brittle plastic shatters easily.
