Alarm / Security Module - 1991 300ZX Z32

The Nissan 300ZX Z32 relies on the theft-warning control module (Nissan P/N 28595-40P00 for 1990-1993, superseded by 28595-40P01 for 1994-1996) mounted behind the driver's side kick panel, left of the ECM. This unit processes inputs from door pins, hood switches, and key cylinders to trigger the horn and flash hazard lamps. When junkyard harvesting, interchange spans all 1990-1996 Z32 chassis regardless of VG30DETT or VG30DE engine, though inspect for water staining on the PCB—common failures occur when the firewall grommet leaks onto the relay board, corroding the horn driver transistor. Test by applying 12V to pin 1 (Red/Black) and grounding pin 2 (Black), then triggering the door pin input on pin 4 (Green/Red)—the internal relay should audibly click. For installation, transfer the mounting bracket with the module; 2+2 models use longer harness leads, so salvage extra wiring if retrofitting into a 2-seater. JDM Fairlady Z units interchange physically but may lack the panic alarm circuit found on USDM models.
