When sourcing a rear left brake backing plate for your 2011 BMW 528i, target OEM number 34 21 6 775 833, which interchangeably services 2010-2017 F10 sedan, F11 Touring, and F07 GT models regardless of engine variant from the N52 to N55 and diesel options. This stamped steel dust shield bolts to the rear knuckle and protects the parking brake shoes from road debris and corrosion. During inspection, check for rotor contact marks indicating impact damage, severe rust at the lower mounting tab, or cracks around the parking brake adjuster access hole. Installation necessitates removing the wheel, caliper, and rotor to access the three mounting bolts behind the hub flange. Note that counterpart 34 21 6 775 834 fits the right side—these are handed parts due to parking brake cable routing differences. F07 Gran Turismo donors provide identical hardware, often with lower mileage.
