The BMW hood hinge reinforcement right (41 61 7 163 020) is a structural steel plate welded to the right side fender apron on all 2010-2016 F10 5-Series models, providing the critical mounting foundation for the hood hinge assembly. When sourcing from junkyards, target 2010-2016 528i, 535i, or 550i sedans and 2010-2017 F11 Touring wagons, as these share identical body structure with your N52-powered 2011 528i. Inspect donor parts for stress cracks around the hinge mounting holes and evidence of previous collision repair. Replacement requires drilling out factory spot welds and welding the new plate—this is not a bolt-on component.
