This aluminum panel saves significant weight over steel counterparts but dents easily—inspect closely for previous paintless dent repair. Critical inspection points include the hinge mounting boxes (prone to stress cracking from hood slamming) and the strut anchor points, which tear if the hood is forced manually. During installation, torque the 41-62-7-246-439 hinges to exactly 21 Nm and align using the F10's distinctive double-joint hinges before closing; the aluminum construction requires two people to prevent flex damage.
